Helping European SME importers source from China without the compliance headaches.
I founded SinoSource after watching the same expensive mistakes repeat themselves across dozens of European SME importers: paying premiums for suppliers that looked good on paper, missing EU compliance steps until a market surveillance authority flagged a product, building inventory plans that ignored the Chinese New Year shutdown.
SinoSource exists to compress that learning curve. Every month we publish supplier intelligence reports tailored to a specific niche — Home Goods, Kitchenware, Pet Products, Electronics — with verified suppliers, EU compliance screening, Safety Gate checks, and PPWR readiness assessments built in.
What I write about
The articles on this blog focus on three areas where European SME importers consistently lose money or compliance ground:
- EU compliance regulations. What is actually in force, what is coming, and what most importers are still getting wrong 18 months into GPSR enforcement.
- Supplier intelligence. The signals — pricing patterns, certification mismatches, factory video reluctance — that predict expensive supplier failures before they happen.
- The China sourcing calendar. CNY shutdowns, Canton Fair blackout weeks, Golden Week logistics chaos, and the November quality-risk window.
Background
SinoSource is based out of Skellefteå, Sweden, with on-the-ground research partners in Guangzhou and Yiwu. We focus exclusively on the EU import market — particularly Italy, Spain, Germany, and the Nordics — because the regulatory environment there is genuinely different from the US or UK and deserves dedicated coverage.
