PPWR, separate the 2026 and later milestones
Regulation (EU) 2025/40 generally applies from 12 August 2026, including Article 5(5) PFAS thresholds for food-contact packaging. Article 12 harmonised labels start from 12 August 2028 or 24 months after the relevant implementing acts, whichever is later. Article 24 sets a 50% maximum empty-space ratio from 1 January 2030 or three years after the relevant implementing acts, whichever is later. Supplier evidence must be matched to the applicable milestone.
GPSR, verify the responsible economic operator
For products within the GPSR scope, the online offer and product or accompanying documentation must carry the applicable manufacturer and EU responsible-person information.
